This session provides Health Science CTE teachers and administrators with essential updates related to Health Science Education in West Virginia, along with an overview of high‑quality instructional resources available through NCHSE and HSEA. Participants will learn how these tools can be used to support curriculum implementation, student engagement, and credential alignment. The session will also showcase statewide WVDE supports designed to assist teachers in navigating changes and strengthening their programs.
This presentation will explore simple yet effective relaxation techniques that can be incorporated into facial services to improve the client experience and promote deeper relaxation. Attendees will learn how breathing cues, intentional touch, rhythm, and environmental awareness can help calm the nervous system and create a more therapeutic service. A brief interactive demonstration will also be included to show how these techniques can be taught and applied in student practice. I am not sure if this would fit in a 15 minute slot but I don't think I would need a full 45 minutes.
The MedEx (Medical Explorers) program through Marshall Health Network is a two-year high school workforce development initiative designed to introduce students to careers in health care. Rather than functioning as a traditional hiring program, MedEx serves as a structured partnership between the health system and local school districts. Students participate in both classroom learning and hands-on clinical experiences within real health care settings, where they are mentored by professionals and exposed to roles such as Patient Care Technician and Medical Assistant.
